The food here is really good. The prices are comparable to what you’d find in the area but the portions sizes are actually quite big. I can’t say I’ve ever managed to finish a dish all by myself here.
So far I’ve tried their Falafel priced at $11.75. Mine was served with hummus, salad, pickled cabbage, olives, pita and choice of organic brown rice, tahini and hot sauce.
Funny story about the hot sauce: It came in this little container of what I presumed was the hot sauce. But when I tried it, it had no notes of “hotness”. When I asked the server what that sauce was she said that it indeed was the “hot sauce”. Long story short their hot sauce isn’t hot. It’s good but it’s NOT hot.
Next I tried their Chicken Tawook Priced at $13.50. It’s grilled chicken with hummus. The chicken breast was more on the dry side. The flavour was fine. The dish over all looked very appetizing but the chicken skewer was a disappointment. But look how pretty it looks!!
So, moving on, I also ordered “fresh juice” which I was expecting to be fresh and its NOT. Fresh juice means once it’s ordered, you juice the fruits/vegetables as the order comes in. These juices were pre-squeezed which means all the nutrients have already evaporated or oxidized and by the time it gets to you. YOU my friend are drinking sugar and colorful water. I DIDN’T WANT colorful water I wanted “fresh juice”.
Anyways the food here is nice. It’s a good spot to come over and relax, drink a latte have a falafel and go home or wherever it is you want to wonder too. The cafe is well lit and is very beautiful from the inside. The exterior of the cafe is very humble and simple.
